We are a group of 20, booked a hiking focused trip with Rebecca Adventures. Our main goal was to hike Cotopaxi in addition to few acclimatization hikes such as Rumiñahui, Quilotoa crater etc. Though Rebecca has done a good job on the accommodations, Quito and Baños tours, they dropped the ball completely on the hikes front. The guides they hired were not very hiker friendly and encouraging. The gear they provided for Cotopaxi summit hike was substandard. The waterproof jackets and pants were not waterproof at all. The snow boots were faulty and leaking. The lead guide who was supposed to lead us on the Cotopaxi summit hike didn’t even accompany the group. The assistant guides were mostly discouraging during the Cotapaxi summit hike telling us mostly to give up and turn back.
Overall, this agency might be good for Ecuador non hiking trips and tours but they are certainly not the one you want chose for hiking trips like the one we did. That is probably the reason I didn’t see such tour title in their list of tours in the drop down menu above. I wish they told us they don’t have experience in arranging such hiking tours instead of taking on one messing up like they did for us. Stay away from Rebecca Tours if your main goal is hiking during your trip. I have given the 2 stars because of the non hiking part of the trip which I didn’t see an issue, otherwise I would have given no stars at all.
